Once a year, high school basketball teams from across the country come together in Ontario for the Jacob Ranton Memorial Tournament, named after Jacob Ranton. Ranton, a member of Memorial University’s men’s varsity basketball team, died by suicide in 2014. His former teammate Patrick Slaney coaches the Gonzaga High School boys’ team, which took part in the tournament for the fourth time this year. CBC’s Henrike Wilhelm reports.
